About Vaughn Fish & Chips

Tucked away on the bustling streets of Dorchester, Vaughn Fish & Chips serves as a delightful nook for all those with a penchant for the classic staple of British cuisine. Located at 1 Erie St, one might easily stroll past, but those in the know swear by the subtly aromatic wafts of fried batter and the convivial chatter pouring out the doors. Oh, the tale of Vaughn ain't just about the food, though the offerings certainly do remain a centerpiece worthy of praise.

The menu at Vaughn Fish & Chips reads like an ode to the sea, aligning itself with simplicity yet bursting with character. There's nothing quite like that first bite of their celebrated haddock—crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. It's an experience—a momentary escape from the mundane into a flurry of flavor. Pair this with their thick steak-cut chips, golden and seasoned to perfection, promising satisfaction in every bite. It's not all about fish, either; unexpected surprises like the hearty homemade clam chowder or the indulgent lobster rolls turn out to be crowd favorites as evidenced by numerous glowing reviews across the internet platforms.

Feedback from patrons tends to be filled with hearty appreciation. A smattering of five-star reviews online shows folks raving about the impeccable balance of seasoning and freshness—always a solid beginning to a memorable meal. Diners frequently compliment the friendly staff, who eagerly accommodate requests and ensure service flows as smoothly as their homemade tartar sauce. Regulars who have made this spot their own cite the inviting ambiance as a reason to return more often than not; relaxed enough for the solo diner yet lively enough for a family outing.

While accolades tend to pile up, it’s the aura of authenticity that holds genuine charm. Vaughn Fish & Chips may not boast a grandiose facade, but that’s precisely part of its loveliness. It provides a kind of unpretentious genuineness that draws diners in and keeps them coming back. Those cresting the waves of Dorchester’s dining scene might find themselves shipwrecked here, but no bother; anchor down, indulge in a plate of their finest fish and chips, and let the dining voyage begin. Vaughn, in all its quaint glory, offers an anchorage for tastebuds seeking discovery.

Neighborhood takeout. I ordered fish (haddock) & chips & a side order of fried okra. Both were really tasty - fish/okra fried perfectly. Didn't have to wait long and was wrapped, vented so everything remained crisp. I highly recommend Vaughan's - and will visit again!

I’ve been eating at Vaughn since I was a little girl. I am 37 years old and still crave some vaughn. Food always fresh & fried hard to my liking. The girl that lied stating their fish is dry and they didn’t give you no tar tar sauce but it’s in the picture you took, YOU ARE GOOFY!!! Stay away trying to bring their ratings down. Not cool at all.

The haddock sandwich 🥪 😋 yummy to die for it's worth the trip. I will definitely be going back again. This place is a landmark in the four corners community. I know because I worked and would frequent the place a few years back. All the foods I have had is great. Definitely would go again. The young man could been more friendly in the beginning the beginning is what counts and towards the end he was friendly, I was courteous to him just the same but that haddock sandwich will have me coming back for more weather is getting better for certain run 🏃‍♂️ don't walk today. It's worth the trip
